The Redesigned Hyundai Sonata

The new Sonata has undergone a facelift to resemble a more luxurious mid-sized sports coupe. The vehicle's ground clearance is slightly lower. The sedan is somewhat wider and longer as well. The front end features a more aggressive-looking grille that provides a sportier appearance that our Philadelphia, PA drivers enjoy. The revamped daytime running lights travel from beneath the headlights and upward over the hood. When functioning, the lights reflect the hood's surface and blend with the chrome strips that accent the hood.

The previous engine has been replaced by a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers up to 191 horsepower and has a combined EPA rating of 33 miles per gallon. The SEL Plus and Limited trim models have 1.6-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engines that provide up to 180 horsepower and a combined fuel rating of 31 miles per gallon.

Standard safety features on the SE models include automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams and adaptive cruise control. The vehicles also have lane centering to assist the driver in remaining alert and traveling in the correct lane. The SEL and other upper trim levels additionally offer blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warnings. The elite Limited edition features a full 360-degree camera and blind-spot cameras that engage when the driver activates a turn signal.

The interior is spacious and comfortable with plenty of storage compartments and user-friendly technology. The cabin is virtually noise and wind-free when traveling down the road. The infotainment system sits high on the dashboard for easy access and clearer viewing. The center console features a push-button shifter that makes room for the charging pad. The rear bench seat accommodates three passengers. But, it also features a pull-down armrest that contains cup holders.

New amenity upgrades include the ventilated charging pad, which ensures that smartphones do not heat excessively while charging. The digital key is another added feature that enables Conshohocken, PA vehicle owners to unlock the vehicle using a smartphone and a tap of a button. Users may also merely tap the phone against the door handle. The technology connects the phone with the vehicle via Bluetooth.
